Breast Implant Manufacturer Accused of Withholding Safety Data From FDA
On June 22, a former scientist from Mentor – one of the two companies seeking FDA approval of silicone gel breast implants – sent a letter to the FDA accusing the company of withholding from the FDA a variety of important new safety information. Prior to sending the letter, the scientist had raised all of the serious concerns documented in the letter within the company, urging Mentor to submit the data, but it refused and fired the scientist."

It is an absolute disgrace that the FDA has now approved silicone implants. Our govt is corrupt and so is the judicial system that allows this to happen. Many women have died and many more are seriously ill. I am one of those women. I was involved in the Dow Corning class action....I had no idea what I was getting into. I just rec'd my "settlement"....$3,000! I had a rupture, leakage, and serious illness. I had them explanted in 1996 but it was too late. I was already ill. Now I am unable to work and have to live on SS disability. I know that I still have "silicone poisoning" disease and I am very, very ill. I can barely function. My best friend died in 1991 from her implants..the poison leaked into her lungs and killed her. She was 43 at the time. I have to suffer with this poisoning and it is killing me..because I don't have any insurance to even see a dr. I live in Indiana where NO ONE knows anything about silicone poisoning. I have been thrown out of drs offices for even mentioning it. Even if the FDA had 100%proof of the dangers of silicone they would still approve them. This corporate country is all about big business and big profits.
Dow Corning has murdered many women and destroyed the lives of others. How did they get away with this?? Only in America can a woman receive millions for spilling a cup of hot coffee, yet thousands have died from a poison from a co who KNOWINGLY killed thousands!!!
